  • Dr. David M. Goldberg

    Internal Medicine & Infectious Disease

    David M. Goldberg, MD, graduated with honors from Yale College and from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, then completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Columbia University Medical Center (then Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center). Dr. Goldberg has been a staple in the Westchester medical community for 40 years.

    He enjoys primary care because of the opportunity it provides to form long-lasting relationships with his patients and their families. During his decades as a physician in Westchester Dr. Goldberg has treated generations of family members. He also values his ability as an internist to treat his patients' general well-being and health, rather than just treating one specific symptom or condition.

  • Dr. Deborah Finkelstein

    Internal Medicine

    Deborah Finkelstein has been providing comprehensive primary care for over two decades to patients in New York City and Westchester County. She is known for her compassionate, humanistic, and patient-centered approach to medicine.

    Dr. Finkelstein earned her Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and Zoology from the University of Michigan. She then went on to receive her medical degree from NYU School of Medicine, then completed her internship and residency in the Primary Care Internal Medicine Program at Montefiore Medical Center, where she was selected to serve as Chief Resident for both the Primary Care and Social Medicine programs.

    In 2002, Dr. Finkelstein joined the teaching faculty of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she served as Director of Residency Training at Washington Heights Family Health Center, a clinic within the Ambulatory Care Network. Over the next decade, she was deeply involved in teaching and mentoring Internal Medicine residents both at the clinic and at NewYork-Presbyterian's Allen Pavilion.

    In 2012, Dr. Finkelstein transitioned from academic medicine to private practice, joining Scarsdale Medical Group. She later returned to the Columbia faculty in 2017 while continuing her clinical work with NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group in Scarsdale/Eastchester.

    Dr. Finkelstein remains dedicated to delivering high-quality primary care, emphasizing preventive care, continuity, and fostering long-term relationships with her patients, built on trust, communication, and respect.

  • Dr. Deborah Hemel

    Internal Medicine

    Dr. Deborah Hemel has been practicing outpatient internal medicine in Westchester for over a decade.

    After graduating from Scarsdale High School, Dr. Hemel went on to Williams College in Massachusetts where she earned a BA in Religion, graduating Magna Cum Laude. After college, Dr. Hemel was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Israel, where she participated in research about the social impact and neurobiological underpinnings of PTSD. Dr. Hemel earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, then completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at New York University Medical Center/ Bellevue Hospital.

    After residency, Dr. Hemel served as a teaching hospitalist at Montefiore Medical Center and as an instructor of medicine at Albert Einstein School of Medicine. After returning to Westchester to raise her family, she joined Scarsdale Medical Group as an outpatient internist. She subsequently joined the Columbia faculty in 2017, along with Dr. David Goldberg and Dr. Deborah Finkelstein. Since 2017 she has worked as an outpatient internist with ColumbiaDoctors, the faculty practice of Columbia University Medical Center, and has treated patients at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group in Westchester.
