Insurance Participation Update
We wanted to share a quick update on insurance participation at Community Physicians of Westchester (CPW).

UnitedHealthcare (UHC) / Oxford Update
Our UHC participation is currently delayed because the New York market for our specialty is closed and at capacity.
Oxford is part of the UnitedHealthcare family of plans, so this update also applies to patients with Oxford insurance.
UHC has advised us that they are currently unable to add our providers while the market is closed. We understand that the market typically reopens annually, and we have been advised by UHC that the market is expected to reopen in January 2027, at which time UHC can continue processing our participation request.
If you have UHC or Oxford insurance, you may continue to see your CPW physician:
If your plan has out-of-network benefits, we will bill UHC/Oxford as an out-of-network provider.
If your plan does not have out-of-network benefits, the visit will be billed at the $40 self-pay rate.
The $40 self-pay charge will not begin until July 2027, as previously communicated.
Other Insurance Plans Pending
We are also working with several other insurance companies that are currently reviewing our participation requests.
If your insurance plan is not listed above, you may continue to see your CPW physician while your plan is under review. Patients will not be responsible for an additional out-of-network cost while we are working through the participation process.
If CPW is approved, some insurance companies may allow claims or participation to be backdated to July 1, 2026. This depends on each insurance company's requirements and processing timelines.
